Thank You

Thank you.
For teaching me how to reach for my highest potential
For showing me how to let go of what's no longer needed
For demonstrating how to be in service to all life
My arms reach around the trunk of a mighty redwood
It would take several more humans to complete the circumference
For years, I made my pilgrimage
Up into the forest
To sit at your base
To lay on the floor
Watching the dance of the canopy
Amazed by the stillness below
Seemingly unphased by the gusts above
I asked for your guidance
When I had exhausted my capacity for logic
And reached the edge of illusion
No longer willing to perpetuate the myth
If I just try harder, then I can solve this problem
And remain safely in a cocoon of self sufficiency
I come to you when I know I don't know
When your physical presence isn't
Intimidating
You don't make me feel small
You remind my body that it is porous
Permeable
That the answers I seek do not live within the contours of flesh
They are everywhere
And all I need, is to gently wrap my limbs around
An antenna more powerful the intellect
Always reaching towards the heavens and the hells
To bring a balanced knowing
Communicating what needs to be said
Without words
In a voice that anyone can hear
There is no need to translate what you say
Just a responsibility to live it
To become the walking, singing, dancing
Manifestation of that which is rooted
That which has no feet or mouth
Because what you do is more profound
Than any combination of syllables I might utter
Any choreography I may manifest
Thank you.
